Just curious which do you prefer for winter storage - adding stabilizer to the gas and allowing the treated fuel to run thru or running the engine dry? I've always run my mowers dry in the past but just wondering if anyone has had issues either way? Also, why does the manual recommend adding a tbsp of engine oil to each spark plug hole?

Are you using ethanal fuel or NON ethanol ? ( hopefully the latter)

As for the oil - nothing wrong with that - pull plug, drop in oil spin it good fashion - replace plug

Adding oil to the cylinders helps to reduce the risk of stuck rings (rings sticking to the cylinder wall or in the piston), rust on the cylinder walls (if you rotate the engine slowly for a couple of turns.
