it requires a hardwired connection however. any wifi repeater that uses a wireless connection will require a computer access or laptop access to input the wifi information. just note that repeating a wifi signal that does not belong to you as in a hotel or restraunt or campsite is highly illegal and can be prosecuted as a federal thing. not ssying that you would be just that it has happened to people who were doing it for money reasons
