Picked my grapple up Friday. I have a grandson in the hospital and they sent the grapple with the wrong hydraulic couplers so I haven't been able to work with it other than removing it from my trailer. Was able to reach over the high sides of the trailer and attach on to the quickhitch.
Just curious when you remove the grapple how do you position it? Do you open it up and put it down, doesn't look like it will stand up closed. Also if you want to remove the loader asembly from the tractor can you do it with the grapple on or do you need to put the bucket back on?

My good friend from church actually built me a metal stand that he welded together for me and he built one for himself so we can store our grapples on. The grapple is stored at chest height so I can pull right up to it and see it, making hookup much easier. I need to take a picture of it and post it, keep forgetting to do that.

When I have taken it off out in the field, I partially open it up and that seems to help it balance better.

As far as taking off the loader and the grapple on it, I will have to refer that to someone else. I think if it was me, I would put the bucket on, but since I haven't done it, I don't want to give you incorrect info.

This is what I did with mine to store both my pallet forks and the grapple. On the pallet the grapple shipped on.
I added some scrap plywood to the bottom of the pallet to mount the 3" casters on. It allows me to move it around in the barn and store them both indoors and out of the way....
Think it was about an hour of time and $30 for the set of locking casters ( plus the spare wood and screws I had).

The forks make a great handle to move the pallet around.
