I bought a riding mower 15+ years ago. The reverse interlock went the first day.

I don’t know you and you don’t know me, but the assumption is you and I and pile of others are just plain idiots. Because we are so incredibly stupid and the manufacturers are aware our IQs are about equal to the median annual temperature in Hawaii, it is therefor the manufacturer who is responsible (not the operator) when we back over slow moving or oblivious persons. There are court decisions in the USA that make that abundantly clear.
And regardless whether it’s my zero turn or my tractor/rotary cutter, I mow in reverse routinely. If I hit someone with the zero turn, it would knock them down and burn them with the muffler before I noticed. If I hit someone with the Howse behind the Kubota I’d probably miss them at dinner and start looking for them the next day. As such, everyone who is potentially in the danger zone knows better than to trust me to not run them over so they stay back at least 200 yards and call or text if they need something.

Found out today that if you powerwash a BX23S to get the muck off it, the labels fly off in all directions......

If you ever sell the tractor just get your lawyer to draw up a “sold as is” with a liability waiver, get the buyer to sign it, have it notarized, and keep it forever.

Have you noticed Ivory Soap no longer claims to be “99-44/100ths percent pure”?
It also no longer claims to float.

I do wear my seatbelt when mowing but only because I had a friend who got run over by his mower. Mr. Shrum was in his 80's, retired Air Force Col. but we will never know if he died & fell off or just fell off his tractor.
The problem with that label is, blind people can't see it. It needs to be in braille. "HOT, DO NOT TOUCH".
We certainly don't want to discriminate against the vision impaired.
I was standing in line one day at the old Mueller airport security check-point and happened to observe a sign mounted flush on the wall. The wall was “stippled”...meaning it had a finish of randomized small bumps.... and the sign was in both English and Braille. It said “Stand Back - Keep Clear”. How would a sightless person know a sign was posted on a stippled wall...?? and that one would have to violate the instructions in order to read them... !!
The nuttiest Braille sign I’ve seen was in the drive-thru window at a McDonalds that explained which credit cards were accepted. Really? Do people with no sight drive through at McDonalds behind those having no taste-buds?
(We were there to buy a “Happy Meal” for a friend’s mammothrept.)
That reminds me of the first time I saw braille on the keypads of drive-up ATMs. If you need braille, you probably shouldn't be driving up to an ATM. I remember thinking, "What's next, Braille stop signs?" But I think that answer is just around the corner with self-driving cars.
