Why don't tractors have suspensions?

The BX23 is a powerful piece of machinery that I would be very happy to own, if I could afford one.
Agree, and it is also quite nice. You can do an amazing amount of work with one of these.

I'm very confused by your arguments. For one thing, a Ford 8N is much larger and heavier than a BX and even today can perform more work than a BX. Of course, the BX is the nicer machine to operate.

As for comparing an old car to a modern car...yeah, the modern car is better in most respects. But why compare a Subaru? It surely is not some exceptionally great vehicle. I'd wager if a 1950's car hit a Subaru at 50 mph, occupants in both vehicles might be dead, not just in the old car. Subarus, contrary to their flowery marketing campaigns, are not heavily built or extremely safe. That is just marketing.

And tractors are very nice these days. They cost a lot because they last a long time. The basic design hasn't changed because...it works.
It is not just marketing, modern cars are way more safer than 1950 cars. A ford 8n is not that much bigger than a bx, i just took one in for junk it weighted 2000, which is isnt much at all. It also isnt more powerful than a bx, a ford has a hard time with brush hogs, the bx doesnt have any problem. A ford 8n def couldnt do more work, the point was the design is the same.

I picked suburu because it has the most superior drive system.

I guessed that it was a typo too but I wanted to be absolutely sure. The BX23 is a powerful piece of machinery that I would be very happy to own, if I could afford one. I figured that since he seems very unhappy with his BX23, that he might let it go for a price that I could afford. However, I am not going to make a 6000 mile round trip to buy one, if he lives in NY.
You don't honestly believe i am gonna sell you a new bx 23 for cheap do you. One of the reasons i picked it was because of its resell valvue over other series. Such as the l or b. I also dont want to sell it, it does what it needs to do. Doesnt mean i cant complain about how much a pieace of trash it really is. Its a really expensive pieace of trash, but i still want it.

Some one finally did anwser, none of u did, he said in Europe they have shocks on tractors. So the anwser is tractora should have shocks, it just that people still buy them, they have no competition, so they stay the same.

Its like the old rtv, befoew they put a suspension on them. I called them dumpster trash, and thought they were the biggest pieace of junk i ever saw. Which they were, polairs made a video of how much ofa pieace of trash it actually was, by showing how the polairs ranger could carry more, and go over bumps with out going all over the place, and getting stuck cause it had shit suspension.

They made the new rtv, which is way superior to the old one, or polairs. Just apparently tractors have no competition to make it better.

A Ford 8N is significantly larger than a BX. Much longer wheelbase, much larger tires, and a fair bit more power, too.

As far as Subaru...yeah, it has a nice full-time 4x4 system...but most of them have terrible CVT transmissions and totally gutless engines.

Um reading comprehension goes a long way in combating thread length.

He did not say that in Europe tractors have shocks. He said, as actually others have also said that SOME LARGE tractors have some sort of suspension. He also did a good job explaining why you would want said suspension to be lockable for non-transportation tasks.

One thing that Treckerzeug did not say is how much those tractors with lockable suspensions cost. I am betting $200,000 USD or more. That is a sight more than a BX anything costs. I just don't think that it is cost effective or desirable to have a lockable suspension on a tractor here in the US. We typically don't use our tractors to move our produce to market on the highways like they do in parts of Europe.
