Is that the valve cover breather? There should be a hose connected to cover and routed down. Looks a bit excessive to me.

that looks to be blow-by - as Matt mentioned, find hose from valve cover.

It may or may not look exactly like this picture - but the hose will be off a valve cover - if hose is still there.

It looks like it is coming from that hose from the valve cover now that you said that. It only has smoke coming out when the engine is warmed up.

Any ideas on what needs to be done if anything to fix?

That is blow by - somewhat normal with a cold engine and it may even be more pronounced when under a good load on the engine.

As an engine gets older and worn - it will have more blow by - when it smokes all the time, then it is time to look at a rebuild.

IF yours clears up after a warm up - then I would run it and not worry too much at all.

Yep blow by.
If it still starting good, not overheating, and no oil is coming out then your fine for now.
It will need a rebuild within a few years or greater if it's getting a lot of use.
