We have been fixing up this old white 2-105 tractor and bit by bit we're getting everything buttoned up. New issue though, when you put the 3 point down it just comes back up when you let go of the lever and so does the lever... why is this?

Otherwise it's a good tractor, old stuff was so simple.. fuel efficient and easy to repair. Far...far less comfortable though

There is a friction disc (or at least there once was) between two parts at the bottom of the shaft/lever assembly. There are two bolts with washers, springs, and lock nuts on either side of that. The bolts/nuts are the adjustment for the friction stop. That should be adjusted tight enough to keep the lever wherever you put it. Try tightening those two bolts evenly a few turns and see if that helps.
