Which way goes up on head gasket?

It is on a L2900 with D1503 engine.head gasket looks like two piece and metel.im thinking that where cylinder is feels like ring is high that it goes up so crushes when torqued.is this way it goes?

Usually if there is any writing/stamping on it, that would go up. Pay attention to any holes in the gasket as well as the block and make sure you're not covering anything up.

Thanks a lot that explains it.can only go one way in order for the oil tube hole and o ring right.

It should be poke yoked so it only fits one way.
