Which rear blade size for BX1860

Hi all!
I've been trying to decide on which Land Pride RB05-60" or the RB15-60" rear blade. The weight of the RB05 is 143lb. The RB15 is 248 lb. I was thinking that going with the heavier model would be more beneficial for plowing snow. I have a 220 ft. paved drive and I also have a FEL which I used last winter here in upstate NY. It worked out well but I would of also benefited in having a blade angled to help clear the snow. Just wondered if the BX1860 would work better with one or the other rear blade.
Thank you!;)

As long as you keep the blade an inch or so off the ground, the extra weight will certainly help. For any other task you will be thankful you went heavy duty. Think about wheel weights of some sort. I assume you have chains. Nothing else works well on icy concrete.

If it's only for snow and on tarmac consider the lighter plow. You can attach buckets with stone for weight as needed. I plow directly on the driveway. But consider that the heavier plow will not be so quick to bend if you hit an obstruction

Thank you for your input. I think I'll be going with the RB15-60". It is a heavier model. It has a longer distance from the rear wheels, a reversible cutting edge, an offset, several angled settings, thicker moldboard and the weight will be there to help me with heavy snow. I like the idea of keeping the FEL on during the winter to push back snow piles and dig out drifted areas. The one area that's a real killer is when you get socked in by the snow plow. I used it last winter and it does a great job pushing and lifting the heavy snow.

On my bx 2360 I run a blower on the front and the rb0560 on the rear. I swear I have the steepest drive in anchorage so I didnt want the weight that far back. If your drive is flat then I'm sure the 1560 will work great for you.

On another note, last weekend we got 7 inches of the white stuff further up the mountain from me. I got about 2, which was gone by the time I got home from moose hunting. But this weekend the snow tools go on!

Ok we need to suspend the thread for a moment......Did you bag a moose? If so do you need my address for a package of steaks or a roast? Another if so we need pictures :D

Ok back to the thread......On my BX24 I have the combo of front snowblower and a LP RB1560. During summer the BX has no issues with the RB 1560. I love the job it does in both summer and winter
