Which power steer fluid to use?

Hi all I have a 1982 L405 40hp it has a seperate power steer system like on your car. Can i just use same power steer fluid as a car?
Maybe prestone brand?? Thanks any info appreciated. Tony

General purpose tractor hydraulic fluid is fine. PS was added on some models, not on others - so it had its own tank & pump. But the fluid is the same type.
