Which engine oil for BX2380?

I wonder about the huge amount of capacity that exists for refining dino oils. I worked for 31 years for the largest of them, which is even larger now with the merger. Now, the Singapore combined lube oil plant is their largest. Only a small amount is engine oil though.

Thanks for all the replies! You're helping me to learn quite a bit. I'm new at using diesels.

15W-40

API: CH-4, CI-4, CJ-4 (Edit: page 73 or the Operator's Manual says this cannot be used on this tractor), or CK-4

As for the filter, on my cars I've ALWAYS changed the filter when I've changed the engine oil otherwise the new, clean oil I pour in is dirty oil after the car is started.

Any comments/advice will be appreciated.
Yes. 15W-40 is what the dealer told me as well (in Virginia). He said not to use the 5w unless you were further up north and operated in the winter.

Thanks!

10w-30 would cover the winter temperature range here too but the service manager at the dealership told me to use 15w-40 so that's what I'll use.
