Good afternoon folks,

Just as the title says, I'm interested in knowing where everyone turns to when their favorite orange machine needs some TLC. Is a trip down to your local dealer? Do you shop online? eBay, Messick's or TractorSmart? You can pick more than one option if that make sense for you. I know that for some, their "local dealership" is actually 200+ miles away, so it makes better sense to click the mouse and wait for them to arrive at the doorstep.

Where is everyone getting their parts? :D

yes waiting for a steering shaft.
I figure that since Vic is handing out so much advice we should try to support his source of income.

For anyone in the Uk or Europe, Vapormatic agricultural supplies, stock quite a lot of the major wearing parts, sutch as clutches, and also consumables like filters. They also do Kubota enamel paint in 1L tins and aerosol(this is what I used on my B6000, and it is a very good, if not perfect match to the old colour scheme. They may sell worldwide, but I havn't checked that one out yet, although they do list Mexico and NZ. Their website is http://www.vapormatic.com/language.ashx type in Country/language--enter site, hover over part search, near the top left, then click tractor search, this brings up a list of Manufacturers, Click on Kubota, and that brings up the model numbers, click on the model number, for the parts that they suply.

my dealer makes it difficult to go other places. Discounts on parts, printed out listings on where the part can be found, torque specs and instructions for removal/replacement come with each order. Do I pay a bit more for stuff I could get at Napa or online? Probably but the outstanding service and friendship we've built will keep me as a Kubota customer.

No parts needed for my L2501 yet but I purchased B7100 parts from Messicks. The parts department was very helpful when I plumbed hydraulics for a front mount snowblower.

11 year old thread. Vic's Acreage Outfitter's website is long gone.

Too bad. It would be nice to have a Canadian on-line source like Messicks.

Missed my go to source- Colemans Equipment.
Guess they would be "other".

Should be another category:
"Where is the place you will NEVER buy parts from?
In my case, that would be the dealer.

It would be nice if OTT provided a page that suppliers could put a banner on for us users. There are a lot of good suppliers that we never know about. Charge a nominal fee and it is a win win win.

Bill, I agree with you that we need another category for places we would never buy from again and include why. In my case the dealer is good but a little high priced. I still go to the dealer because the knowledge base is worth going there for.

My dealer for 99% of my stuff. He's very fair and delivers to the farm. Don't much care for Messick, their ship cost is out of line most times. Lubricants and grease come from my local jobber in 55 gallon drums and grease in 150 pound open head pails. They deliver as well and take the used oil with them so no disposal issue.
