hi guys
As i am allway doing something orange and tractor related i am allways on the lookout for spares and bargains, preferablytogether.
They dont often come along, but, sometimes when they do its well worth it.
Anyway, i have been on the lookout for an old b6000 for some spares but to date nothing has come to light at a sensible price(cheap),then a few days ago i came across an advert for a b6000 for sale, all parts for sale.
The tractor was at a scrap metal merchants and to be honest was pretty well that, scrap.
The guy had put up the normal pics including a rear pic, on closer inspection the rear pto looked different, but not clear enough to say what it was, but i had a good idea what it was.
I called them and spoke to guy, he said make him an offer, so did a deal for £200 with as there were enough good parts to justify the amount offered.
Collected it today and it is pretty rough, well, very rough would be a good description. On the plus side the rear axles are near perfect as are the hubs, rear weheels are good to, tyres are fine allbeit a bit narrow for my needs.
has a complete rear 3pt hitch, i needed that and also the better fuel tank/battery arrangment along with a proper hand throtle lever setup.
engine is an unknown quantitybut it is all there, i have a complete rebuild kit inc pistons/rings /bearing gaskets, the lots, so that will be used to good end.
here is the real party piece, when i took a good look at the rear end and the pto area, what was fitted to the back......yep, a hub city pto reverser in near perfect condition, just covered in greese and dirt.
also has a nice big alternator fitted with the brackets etc, another bonus as i wanted to do this mod on my b6000 but had not managed to get any mounting brackets until now, plus a big alt.
well that really made my day and the whole trip worth while, just shows that all that is scrap may also be gold, well for me anyway
