I have a L2900 4WD WITH 3PT Hitch forks and use it to move pallets of wood pellets to my storage shed behind my cabin. While driving with this maximum load I hear a popping kind of sound from my left wheel and I am guessing it is coming from a wheel bearing? It only makes these sounds while packing the pellets and sounds normal otherwise. Other than tearing it apart to inspect it is there a way to confirm or disapprove that it is a bearing?

Check your wheel center plate to rim bolts and center plate to axle bolts. I suspect they are loose.

Pay attention to the wheel center to rim bolts. They can be deceiving. I find quite often the nuts are tight on the bolts, but the parts between them are not. Just because the nut won't tighten any more doesn't make it right. If in doubt back it off. If it won't back off either, then I cut the bolts off and replace it all. Have done that more than once.
