What's next? Banning common sense in daily life?

I remember back in the70s we were being told a mini ice age was impending on us. Didnt happen, now the world is burning up, polar bears are drowsing, ice burgs are melting coastal cities are going to be under water, solar flares are going to cook all our electronics,,, and the lists go on. Every change that is going on now has happened before and will happen again long after we are gone. I am looking for the article from one of the think tanks, that stated the eruption of one or more volcanos puts more pollution in the air and water than all of human evolution combined. Change is inviable and nothing we as a species can do will change it. Just MHO

Yep, my take on it as well. The Earth will self correct, it always has, always will. Anyone who thinks it wont, just let their backyard go to seed. If all us puny humans were to suddenly disappear, Mother Nature will wipe out all traces within 500 years. There are still Aztec structures buried that have yet to be found.

Science, as it turns out, is not exact. At least according to Fruadci, much of it can be made up to promote an agenda. You can cherry pick all kinds of data to suit the agenda, and a LOT of the Climate Change freaks do such. But if you look at the broad spectrum of data out there, and newer discoveries that promote that timelines are way off, you will see that we are in a normal cycle, which will self correct within say 100-150 years and swing down. We are actually nearing the next ice age according to some new data.

To give an idea, the northern portion of the US was under 2 miles of ice less than 10,000 years ago, and what they originally thought took centuries to melt, happened in decades instead. There is a canyon in Wisconsin, I think they call it Lost Canyon, and scientist originally thought it took hundreds of years to carve out, but recently discovered that it only took 10's of years. The Sahara was a lush rainforest at one time, and eventually became a desert, and again, they originally thought it took thousands of years, but found it took less than a few hundred.

IOW take what these "experts" say with a grain of salt, and if you really want to find out, there is plenty of data out there to read. Start with the Holocene period.

I'm all for cleaner energy, but will NEVER call it Green since it takes a LOT of energy to produce, and emits a LOT of CO2 to produce and will take decades to make up for it. I am 100% against padding someones bank account to push the agenda though, and that is exactly what Climate Change is all about.

Just remember, these devices, the solar panels, wind turbines, etc. NEVER remove CO2, they just don't produce CO2 when in use, but tons upon tons are created in their manufacture. For every ton of steel produced from raw iron to make a tower, 1.5 tons of CO2 are produced, more actually since the raw steel has to then be turned into sheet stock in order to make the tube that supports the tower. That is JUST the steel, there is also the copper production, the harvesting of the Balsa, the manufacture of the resins, etc. All of this produces CO2.

Now IF the towers were able to extract CO2 from the air and remove it, now you have something, but they don't. Eventually they reduce the amount of CO2 produced in Electrical generation, but they will never reduce the amount already produced in their manufacture. Give that some thought.

Yup, that would be me 😬😬😬😬
I got tired of paying the equivalent of a house mortgage payment every month re-fuelling my truck that I was driving with nothing in the bed most of the time. I realized I could pay someone to deliver stuff AND buy a new car every 3 years with the money I was spending on fuel for that truck. Using $100 bills as toilet paper doesn't work any better than 2-ply cottonelle.

Those 'towers' are called TREES !!!!!! Canada is essentially CO2 neutral IF we keep planting a few more trees every year, maybe with that new Trudeau Tax that came in 2 days ago.....

What I found interesting is someone's now posting the 100s of Kg of CO2 used for airplane flights !

“Common sense” to many younger people today seems to be a negative connotation thats akin to “old peoples thinking”. Terms like “hard work”, etc. have been demonized and even called “racist” for some bizarre reason.
I think the enemy is not only inside the wire, but they’ve taken over HQ and they're now calling the shots from capcom.

Yes, Plant Trees not towers! A forest is so much nicer to visit than a corn field full of wind towers. Smells better, has more O2, and is peaceful, no thwump thwump thwump of spinning blades.

Luckily, we have a place way up in the mountains and away from most of the aggressive stupidity.
I'm sure you are one of a handful of great Californians. I was speaking generally. However, I can tell you that Boise, Id, where I lived as a young man (and my mom, dad and brother still love there) has been flooded with folks from your state.

My friends in California say that it is the lower half of the state, and particularly LA and SF that have all the crazies congregated together and that the Northern part of the state is still sane. I still have a hard time believing it!

We drove the RV to and from Palm Springs to SW WA in Nov of 2019. Judging by all the political signs - some enormous - the coming election was to be a landslide in one direction. I will never forget it, I have never seen anything like it.

Unfortunately, thats the situation in many states with big cities. The rural conservative folks votes get overruled by the mass majority of brainwashed city dwellers. Illinois is another great example, chitcago and Crook county out votes the rest of the state. Whats funny is the county I live in is sandwiched between two democratic counties and you can tell when you cross a county line as the road goes from nice and well kept to trash. One would think that over time these people would realize that who they are voting for are succubus that feed off the tax dollars with nothing in return and would vote for someone else, yet....

The next Governor election here will be interesting.

Six Illinois governors have been charged with crimes during or after their governorships; four were convicted, and of those, one (Blagojevich) was the first to be impeached and removed from office. Seems like there is a very good reason for all of the politicians to get caught. They are both greedy and stupid. The next time an honest NY politician walks by the NY Public Library, the stone lions are going to get up and roar!

Yes and no, they have come a long way with solar, far more efficient than what it used to be but lets not for forget the amount of fossil fuel it take to create all the panels and batteries and all the other components needed. No easy answers as far as I can see but if you think about it how many of us actually need a 400HP pickup sitting in their driveway. Hey don't get me wrong, in my books you can never have too much HP but at what cost? If you can't see what's happing in the world right now well you have your head buried in the sand?
