As a farm kid, we didn’t go out for meals much.

When we did, I always got fried fish, shrimp or scallops when my parents allowed me to have them.

Former restaurant cook, I now know how cook shrimp and scallops 100 ways.

Still love them fried…just like I did as a kid…..prep for tomorrow for New Year’s Eve. Been our favorite for 30+ years.

There’s some butterflied 13-15’s….

Some 10-20 and 20-30’s scallops.

After careful consideration, I decided to use several quarts of old 10w-40 motor oil for our New Year’s Eve seafood fry….

It doesn’t have the EP package, but I’m betting it will be the best we’ve had today!

😉 Just poking fun…..it’s Canola oil you silly guys….

Sheppards Pie.

Simple kind with ground beef, green beans and mashed taters.

There’s other fancy ways to do it.

Funny story; when my wife was in the hospital getting a new knee, I went to the cafeteria during off hours to get something to eat. The kitchen help was great and offered to make me anything that I want, spotting the soup kettle I asked what kind of soup since it was already made. The reply was "mill stone soup"! After looking it over, I took a good guess and had a great bowl of minestrone.

Pizza Boy USA….

When I was in the business, I costed a 16” cheese pizza at less than $2, sell it for $12 in a College Town.

I was never a pizza maker, but always envied their profit margins.

I was selling submarine sandwiches, or grinders as they are known in other places.

No pictures but I made butter milk pancakes and thick smokes bacon, made them on an old iron griddle I found up in the GWN one time when I was camping. There had been an old trappers cabin where I was camping, and it had been laying in the weeds a long time and covered with rust, cleaned her up and it makes the best pancakes!
