I had a customer in yesterday. He said all this up and down with fuel prices very ten years is crazy. The country just needs to Stop using fuel. Period. Stop the drilling, stop inporting any fuels stop it all. Then he said people would have to seek and use alternatives.
I replied you understand Everything is trucked ? Food building supplies household goods your Prius was trucked.
He honestly thinks its that simple. And there are lots of clueless people like him.

sadly the 'lot' is actually 10s of MILLIONS !

EVERY time I've reduced MY power consumption, the COST of the KwH has gone UP
relamped all the incandescents to CFLs.... hydro rate went up
replamped all teh CFLs to LEDs, hydro rate went up
switched stuff to 'off hours', hydro rates went up...

I'm still trying to understand WHY we 'need' cars with 300-400-500 HP...

They can charge them with big diesel generators like the EV charging stations in Sam's Club parking lot.
The farmer should use generators powered by ethanol, that way he could use his own fuel and stay down on the farm producing nothing for sale. 😜

Other than the cities, I don't see or read of any charging stations going in. 3 phase power is not available in this neck of the woods.
The plan seems to be to eliminate transportation.

"hydro" is a Canadian/British (?) specific term used to describe ALL electric power.
Much the same as when my grandmother referred to all refrigerators as "Frigidaires".
Only about 7% of USA electric power is "hydro-electric" power.

China ranks 1st in hydro-electric power, with Canada being 2nd.

It automatically calls the dealer to come fix it when it breaks.
Just went through a Deere school last week for work. They are fixing to have that feature in all of the new equipment sold in the near future.

And it is actually more preemptive then "If it breaks".

The owner will be notified if say "hey, we noticed the #x cylinder is firing at 30% under the others. Figure you got an injector fixing to go out".

For big farming, being able to schedule a preemptive repair versus the combine going down in the middle of the night while racing an incoming storm to complete a harvest......

It will send out notifications on other service related issues as well.

course IF they designed and made better parts( like the injectors), then the owner won't have to hear messages like 'needs injector soon....) ;)

Will it have an app screen to locate the nearest charging station and if that location is busy or not?

A million watt hours and 670 HP.
Impressive!
Didn't see anything on animal avoidance.
Thought it was a bit odd that smiling guy had to guide it in and out of the barn, and hook the charger up.

Speaking from experience??? I used it as an example.

I have Deutz, Cummins, Deere, Kohler, Kubota and Doosan diesels in my fleet.

It's actually quite rare to have to replace an injector. The exception is if the fuel is contaminated, or you run water through a common rail fuel system.

I've had two units that have had new injectors installed in the past three years. One was a 300hp deere engine after 30,000 hrs.

The other was a Cummins engine still under warranty.

That's out of 200 plus pieces of equipment.

And before you start brand bashing. deere, Cummins, Kubota, and other engine builders don't manufacture injectors, injection pumps, or your electrical sensors.

Those are standardized and produced by other companies. Those companies say "here's what we got, what can you use???".

It's how I can diagnose a fuel system issue or wiring fault on any of those engines using the same techniques.

where do you think the juice comes from in the first place?
It seems that the "go electric" folks are ignoring where the electricity comes from.

I have seen some uTube videos of folks who work in Natural-gas power-plants. They report that previously shutdown plants are coming back online as fast as they can make it happen. The demand for electricity is climbing and there are no other alternatives.

If you pause at just the right spot, you'' see the charger is putting out 700 volts at 300 Amps !
You only get 10 hours of 'operations', though no mention of WHAT it was doing.
would be nice to see some REAL specs.. weight, cost of charger, batteries, useful work at what temperatures, etc.
The video of it discing is a joke, I can almost walk faster with my bum leg !
BTW JD wasn't the first to offer an electric tractor ....
