That's not usually the case. Most rental companies charge by the hour. Yes you have it for 8 hrs. But anything over that and you get a prorated charge on top of the 8 hours. Hit close to 16 hrs, pay a second day. Hit 24 hours and you might as well put 40 on it and pay for a week.Pretty much sums up all my thoughts on it. If I'm operating and it is right next door, and I have the time, OK. Kick me some cash for fuel and a couple beers post work and I'm good. I'm all for helping someone out, but we're not talking about an old beater chain saw here.
Yes he was trying to get around renting a machine to do the job. Figured he could save a few bucks. The funny thing is, he can rent one this weekend from Sunbelt with the accessories he needs for a few hundred buck and keep it from Friday till Tuesday due to the long weekend and only pay for 8hrs rental.
