Ouch I see what you mean. Glad you said something ... I checked a few days ago and it seemed no problem...today not so good but I was able to place an order for in-store pickup of 2 gallons of 15W-40. Yikes!Good oil. If you can find any in stock.

I switched to Valvoline synthetic because I couldn’t find Rotella T6. The local Cummins shop carries Valvoline products.Ouch I see what you mean. Glad you said something ... Of course now I can't find it, but apparently the RP maintains a higher SUS and CST (viscosity) at higher temps, which means at cold starts the viscosity is high to begin with so the phasers get full pressure right from the start. The rattle is caused by lack of oil pressure. They have made several improvements over time which greatly reduced the rattle.I wonder what it was that caused the design engineers of the ecoboost to create an engine that FAils to deliver full performance on the oils they ACTUALLY RECOMMEND for that engine? (they do not even mention “Royal Purple”. (I guess it’s an internal secret that they don’t want owners to get max performance from their baby.)
You would be wrong, I eat my greens and beans and fruits etcI wonder if everyone that post in these oil threads cares enough about what goes in their body as they do some damn dead dinosaurs? I’d bet not.
Oh just quit taking up space.Oh.....here we go again,..... which oil to use!

Mission accomplished ... got the two I ordered last night, and bought another gallon while I was picking it up. Left another gallon on the shelf for the next guy.Ouch I see what you mean. Glad you got some, all we had on the shelf local was Mobil delvac synthetic. Still good oil, just more expensive then the Rotella. Grabbed about 5 gallons worth. The cummins needs an oil change here soon to. That hogs up most of it.Mission accomplished ... got the two I ordered last night, and bought another gallon while I was picking it up. Congrats. I got 1 gallon for the 50 hour service that's due now. 1 gallon for the 200 hour service for whenever that happens. And 1 gallon in case the world disintegrates.Glad you got some, all we had on the shelf local was Mobil delvac synthetic. Still good oil, just more expensive then the Rotella. Same thing in Seattle, although I do see online a 5 gallon container of it ... the image is of a 2.5 gallon container but the description plainly says 5 gallon and it has "ship to home" and "add to cart" enabled. It lets me add it to the cart, and it's even free shipping. It's so tempting to buy it just to see if I can, but that's silly, I have what I need.Around here when I see Rotella T6 it is 5 - 40 not 15 - 40.
That's how I purchased the oil for my 50hr. It is actually 2 x 2.5 gallon jugs.Same thing in Seattle, although I do see online a 5 gallon container of it ... the image is of a 2.5 gallon container but the description plainly says 5 gallon and it has "ship to home" and "add to cart" enabled. So is Valvoline. And it’s recommended by Cummins for their motors.I was looking for 3 gallons and a quart for the change on my 6.7 Powerstroke. All the Rotella was either T5 or 15w40, neither of which my engine uses. Went to Walmart to get oil for my F150 because they carry both the Motorcraft filter and the 5w30 Motorcraft oil.
What do I see sitting on the shelf but jugs of 10W30 Motorcraft Diesel oil!!! Not ONLY that but not gallon jugs but 5 quart jugs. I need 15 quarts, so 3 jugs and done.
What is interesting is this oil can also be used in the Kubota. The Powerstroke works a lot harder than the Kubota does, and the Motorcraft oil holds up very well with each analysis. Something to keep in mind when looking for oil, if you can't fine Rotella, Motorcraft is pretty good stuff.
And here I thought a CJ 4 was a 1950 Jeep.Yet, someone else reported that all the Kubota oils are CJ-4.
