Funny. My wife also asked for a chainsaw a couple years ago. Got her one of those battery yard tool sets with a little saw, blower, and weedeater. They aren’t a replacement for their larger gas counterparts but they’re quite handy for routine yard work.

So yeah. Maybe get her a battery operated power tool.

Damn, such a thoughtful bunch. Why not ask her what she would like?

I once got my wife a fishing pole.

She liked fishing with me while dating.

Told her it was a "starter kit" for a recreation/fishing boat.

Her next birthday, I got her jewelry.

A year later, could still feel the bump on my head......

Ultralight my ass.

Added a couple pictures. Purchased the property from her grandfather. Been building it for the last 8 years. My wife is shy, didn't want her face online.

The wife and I have always put more thought and tradition into anniversary gifts than birthdays. She really enjoyed everything I gave her early on then on our 30th she began to change. Each passing anniversary she acted less enthusiastic even though I was trying harder and spending more. On our 40th which is traditionally the Ruby anniversary I decided to go all out. I commissioned a custom jeweler to make a 22k gold broach set with rare Rubys ,Saffiare ,Emerald and Diamonds which encompasses 40th,45th,50th and 60th traditions. I'm embarrassed to say how much it cost but I could have bought a new tractor, all the bells and whistles, new implements and had money to spare. I wouldn't say she didn't like it but her spinster sister gave her a battery operated😒 nose picker that she has been inseparable from ever since. Go figure, that's it,no more, never again,I'm finished.

My wife and I have the same birth date and decided to get married on that date also. Instead giving each other gifts and cards, going out for a fancy dinner, etc. it all cancels out - so we just enjoy the special day with each other - as we have for the last 39+.
An exception to that was 9 years ago. 4 days before our 30th anniversary she found the Corvette we sold 23 years earlier was for sale. She arranged to have the car arrive at our house on our anniversary as a surprise.
Now I will keep her until I die (and the wife also).

A few years ago my wife asked for a small battery powered blower, as my stihl backpack was a lot for her.
So I proceeded to stop in the local ace and picked out a lightweight stihl rechargeable. Upon getting the the check out the young girl asked " did you find everything ok?" To which I responded " yes. Apparently my equipment is to big for my wife to handle, she needs something smaller"
As soon. As it came out of my mouth I thought. O boy that didn't come right. 🤣

Ya know it is funny saying your wife wanted a chain saw, my Ex the day my oldest was born, cut a pine tree down in the front yard with my old sears chainsaw. I came home found it laying in the yard and she said lets go for a pizza and dark beer. 2 hours later I had a daughter,, lol

My (Japanese) better half is very low-maintenance: she wears no jewelry, has no passion for shoes, always buys her own clothes etc. She is also more than independently wealthy, hence expensive stuff doesn't impress her at all. So I am constantly on the lookout (and listening!) for little gift ideas, not just for birthdays. Books (anything but romance!), an antique Christmas ornament, baobab seeds, a bear skin, Toots Thielemans CD, raccoon hat, rose bush, silk shawl with accidentally her name as part of the decoration, Madagascar vanilla, stuffed and mounted boar's head,... This year I got her this cute little 17th century painting for her birthday:

Suggestions are needed for what to get the wife for her birthday. I already bought her the cemetery plot, headstone, and casket, all of which she refuses to use. I am running out of ideas.
