This might be a stupid question but what is the metal rod with a loop on the end that is situated right behind the shuttle shift lever. Far as I can tell it does't do anything. But I'm sure it's there for a reason. Ok, I'm ready to feel foolish now, ha!
Thanks, Mark

That loop prevents my leg from moving the shuttle lever during movement on and off the operators platform. That is it's only purpose.

Interestingly, on the M7040 the shuttle shift doesn't have the loop, but the hydraulic shuttle does.
This has me a bit confused. My m7060 has the safety loop on the shuttle shift. F-N-R lever. Not sure what your referring about a separate hydraulic shuttle that would have this.

Pretty sure all M7060's are hydraulic shuttle. They discontinued the Synchro Shuttle.

The hydraulic shift has two clutches, forward and reverse, and the f/r gears are in constant mesh. The synchro-shuttle has one clutch and the f/r gears actually shift. The actual shuttle lever looks the same, just one has the loop and the other one doesn't.

Wish my L45 had something like that. Son broke my H/L lever awhile back. New one wasn't too bad though.
