What is this on loader ram?

My L2950's FEL LA450 sprung a leak where the hose goes into the ram. I'm hoping this is a replaceable part. Hoping it is threaded. Is anyone familiar with this...is it a plug?[/ATTACH]
Thanks, Mel

It's a 90* adaptor, most likely pipe threads in the cylinder barrel. Most impressive corrosion going on there! Backing it out of the cylinder may be a bit of an adventure. An online parts catalog may give you better insight.

What Ramos said! Might soak the part threaded into the cyl with some PB Blaster or similar to help with some of the rust when you go to remove it. Looks like you found it at the bottom of the South China Sea!

If you're in a constant corrosive atmosphere, might spray your bare metal components with Fluid Film. It will protect.

Yes, I looked up the parts diagram. It shows a plug-whether it is threaded it does not indicate ( I would guess it to be due to pressure). The diagram shows the 90 degree to be part of the cylinder-I was hoping someone had experience with changing this fitting hoping it is threaded rather than welded in place. I would like this to be an inexpensive repair than to replace the hydraulic cylinder!
This is a new to me tractor. I don't know what the previous owner did to cause such corrosion.

It is threaded into the cylinder barrel unless some Einstein welded it at a later date as a 'repair'. The fitting you need to replace can be had for just a few dollars. My bet is that the fitting is male pipe thread X female JIC swivel. Once you get the fitting out, take it to town with you.

If you scratch all that rust out of the end you pictured; it is an allen wrench head to remove it. I have removed many of them. Rust truly sucks.
Is that just the screw? Does the elbow fitting come off or is part of the cylinder?
Have you a source or part numbers for replacement, mine came from a chicken farm and there's not much left of mine due to chicken shit dust sitting on them corroding them away, so not much left of the elbow, which is probably welded/part of the cylinder?

Ramos, I'll give that a try on the angle fitting after dowsing with penetrant.
Steve, it is so corroded I couldn't see that the plug is an allen head!
100 td, I didn't write down the plug that goes into the cylinder angle fitting because I wanted to know how it could be removed and if the fitting itself could also be removed...all to be replaced along with the old hydraulic rubber lines.
I've got to be back out to cut trees away from new fencing now that it's not 109. Gotta keep those coyotes out from the sheep and AGHogs. Then dive into this corroded stuff.
