What is the idle speed of the BX2370

My BX2370 idles around 1200 rpm. That seems high (usually idle speeds are 800-900 rpm).
I read through the service manual and could not find anything listing an idle speed.
The idle speed adjustment has not been touched and still has the lock wire on the idle speed adjustment screw.

Maybe 1200 is normal -- just seems too high...

My BX23S idles at 1450, and I was told that I can't lower it. Yours is probably where it is supposed to be.

I think my BX2360 idles right about 1,200 rpm also, and been that way for almost 10 years.

I reset mine to around 1600, to get rid of the ugly vibration I was getting at lower rpms. Now, when I start it, it runs much smoother, with a lot less shake, rattle and roll.

Idle speed is high for these small displacement 3 cylinder engines, vibration is extreme if you try to lower the RPM below the factory setting. It is operating as designed, it can't idle at 600 RPM like a V8 diesel.

True what all are saying about idle - one has to get out of one's head that a low idle is a good idea!

I have see a harley idle at like 400 rpms ..... it was crazy to hear, blop blop ....

Thatt BX is about 1500 ish - and as mentioned, a bit higher like 1600 - 1700 is a lot smoother!

My BX22 came from the factory with an idle set of around 600. I guess that is why every one of those early BX tractors has broken air filter mountings.

When I bought my BX2230 (used ) the idle was set at 800rpm and the air filter mount broke in a week. I welded it up and now I never idle it below 1200-1300rpm and after over four years the air filter mount is unbroken. Those lottle three cylinder engines just vibrate too much at low rpms.
