FWIW, my local auto parts stores have it in stock - again. It was no where to be found for a while, but fortunately I still have extra tubes. I will be stopping by tomorrow at one of the local Advance Auto stores to buy a couple of extra tubes; they have 4 (confirmed by employee) in the rack.

It is: my one grease to rule them all.
I'll add my vote to Lucas red and tacky. As I said in another post on this topic, back when Dryden was still around they made a product called pyroplex. It was a thick red grease that had phenomenal properties. The red and tacky is the closest I've found to it. They also made a purple version, waterproof, boat trailer bearings etc, that I'm yet to find an equal to. Anybody have a line on a product like that?

Yes - my post is referring to Lucas X-tra Heavy Duty (not Red and Tacky). It is Poly Urea based, and green in color.

KEY BENEFITS
  • Lasts four times longer than regular grease
  • Virtually waterproof
  • All temperature stable
  • Exceeds Lube for Life specifications
  • The ultimate grease for high speed bearings

This has been my go-to grease for boat trailer bearings for some time now.
