What fluids do you use and where do you get them?

WIX makes a good oil filter. I do use WIX on some of my other vehicles. I switched from FRAM to WIX after watching the oil filter video on Project Farm's channel on YouTube.

I was going to post a link but I can't find the video now. Possibly it was removed?

Ok, I’m sold on Kubota transmission oil. I’ll get there filters as well. My local Kubota dealer has VERY bad reviews. Is there a reasonable place online any of you recommend?
Also I saw they say gear oil for the axle and gear box oil for the mower deck. Are they different? They both say SAE 80w-90.

Does anyone really know if the orange oil is conventional?
Before switching to Rotella T6 5w-40 I had been getting Canadian Tire brand 10w-30 Semi-Synthetic Diesel oil which has the CJ-4 rating, and priced better plus way more convenient. As far as I'm concerned and this is a pure guess, the Kubota 10w-30 is ALSO semi-synthetic CJ-4 oil. No reason to say except by the appearance and color of the new oil looked identical for both, though I'll probably get laughed at here for using those criteria lol.

[EDIT] Adding after looking it up that my online Kubota brand lube and filter supplier Nova International here in Canada advertises the Kubota 10W-30 as "Synthetic Blend".

So there you go.

It's Synth Blend, or Semi-Synth diesel engine oil, whatever that actually means!

Semi-synthetic is a nebulous marketing term and means it has some unspecified percentage of synthetic base oil in it. The percentage can be very small and does not have to be a PAO product.

One would normally look at the manufacturer's product datasheet for a more specific description but Kubota does not provide that sort of industry standard data for any of their lubricants. Speaks volumes about their marketing strategy.

So..oooo, why should we buy ONLY Kubota branded lubricants?

Mother Kubota wants to keep us in fear of using other lubricants, and will not provide specific data for their house branded lubricants?

Is this really the way it works?

Fear, uncertainty, and doubt is an effective motivator and hard to refute.

AFAIK the only unique orange product is SUDT and you need to keep that in context. UDT is unexceptional UTTO in all regards except branding but Kubota still considers ot an acceptable alternative to SUDT.

I had actually noticed that the other day. K oil is advertised as semi syn outside of the US. Here, it is very vague.
The only real reason I bought the orange oil last time is convenience. The dealer is right next to a motorcycle shop that I went to. That, and I haven't yet stocked up on Amsoil for the year. Which is something I really should do today.
