I don't know why but a package arrived today and on the outside of the box was just the name Kubota. I checked the return address and it is from Kubota in Grapevine Texas. I even checked the postage and it also was mailed from 76051. My first thought getting a package from Kubota that wasn't expected, was it a pipe bomb? The package was too light for that, so I swallowed deeply as I slit open the tape on the bottom of the box and gently pried the cover back. I was shocked, surprised, and very pleased with what was inside. I have to go answer the phone, my wife is calling. To be continued.......

I got nothing.

Our kids and significant others are scattered both coasts. One couple is local.

No grandchildren.

Since it’s quite a challenge for them to travel, we stopped the gift-giving thing several years ago. Makes the atmosphere much more relaxed. We eat really well.

If there were grandchildren would be different.

Got a healthy family….perfect gift.

They, as usual, got way more stuff, some costly, than planned.😎

Two of my nieces figured I could use some tractor themed stuff. I like practical presents so these two work for me.

Well, I treated myself to a new laptop - coming tomorrow. Since we are going to FL for a couple of months and I have a new camera that I plan on fully exercising, I needed a laptop to download and do some quick limited editing of the images. The laptop I have is my semi former company's. I still do some consulting for them and my login / email are both still good but I don't feel right schlepping it down there.

Just experimenting with the camera I've shot over 3500 images of my birdfeeder in a few days, so serious shooting down there is going to require a lot of storage.

Healthy family, minus some sniffles going around. Also, monster trucks!

It came to me last night while I was tossing and turning why this was sent to me. It isn't something that I can divulge at present. Only time will tell if it materializes.

@DustyRusty - - while you can not divulge right now, I'll offer my own humble theory which I believe to be wrong.

Looks like something someone might receive from dealership after a significant purchase of equipment. Congratulations on the tractor purchase you didn't make...?!?!?.

That said, it's from Kubota Corporation in Texas; well-removed from your location in the east. Not a local dealership you bought from.

When you can, be very curious......looks like Corporate is offering gratitude for something....????

If so good for you.

My daughter is a Subaru 'Ambassador'. She gets that kind of tsatske (trinkets) to pass out to Subi owners especially at meetups.

Worked.
spent a little bit of time with my mom who's got a brain tumor & and my brother at mom's house for a couple hours. Went back to work afterwards. Apparently I wasn't very good last year cause Santa didn't bring me nothing. But that's ok cause I gave more than I got, and I enjoy that part more than getting gifts. Just have to work extra to pay for it all. A lot extra.

omg GreensvilleJay, you bring back some terrible memories :)

We had an apartment in Boston when I was at Northeastern in the 60's. It was once a very elegant 4 story house in Back Bay that had been converted to 4 apartments and was now less than elegant. We were on the 4th floor and had a large fireplace. Good thing because the landlord would turn off the heat March 1st. We had 12" narrow bricks on the floor in front of it to keep the embers from burning the place down.

One day I was standing in front of it in bare feet and (who knows why) a brick fell over and hit the nail on my big toe perfectly. Within a few minutes I had this purple mass under my nail and I could hardly walk.

Off to NU's infirmary where a semi-English speaking doctor said no problem. I had no idea what he was doing when he straightened a paperclip and heated it up with an open flame. When he pushed that white hot clip thru the nail I thought my eyes popped out but almost immediately all the pain was gone.

I feel your pain :)

When I 'squished' my right thumb, went to local ER ( 5 minutes away )
young doc puts my hand on one of those fancy SS carts,on wheels, high school alcohol lamp, paper clip..I knew what was coming... well SHOULD have been...
he WINCED, only lightly burned a hole in nail, pain went from 10 to 1000 PDQ !
i recoiled, drew a fist, he turned white.Guess he thought I was going to hit him....
I said HERE'S what were NOW doing.
I tossed blue scrub towel on my right knee, I grabbed my knee real good(pain's down to comfortable 500+-...
Told him to heat the paper clip up and jab into thumb with the 'vision' of hitting the BACK of the thumb NOT the top surface...
He DID as I told, Vesuvious erupted, pain went to 5 or 6... whew....yeah ,blood all over the place, but I was happy, doc was happy.....

now if I could only get rid of this damn cough and light green lung slime.......
