What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I found a pretty decent rear view mirror and it came in today. I was able to mount it with the same bolts as the Nilights that I put on top of the CoolTop. Pictures posted of the mirror installed. Also had ordered some LED replacement bulbs for the headlights, I hate incandescent bulbs, haven‘t looked at the other bulbs yet but I will replace them too if needed!

Did more work on the Kubota today. Installed a horn, put horn right at the engine side cover so sound can get out easily, you can see it through one of the pictures, with a foot button.
Installed an axe and holders under the tool box rack. HF axe and Amazon shovel holders. Got two holders in a pack so probably will install the other holders but only put the shovel on when I am going away from the house to do some work.

Went out early to the barn, only way to check front axle fluid/oil level is pull a plug, none came out, but could hear a air pressure releasing, not sure if the air was going in or out?

I then drained it, collected the first bit in a cleaned out peanut butter jar, holding my flashlight up to it, it doesn't look dirty, but orange, so I'm guessing it's the SUDT/UDT in it, I put 85-90wt gear oil in it. (Manual calls for either)

I also drained and changed to engine oil, put in Rotella T6 5W40 in it, only had one of the two drain plugs had a crush washer, and doesn't look like the OEM, neither leaked before though ...

I also rechecked the wheel nut/bolt torque, as I had them off and widened them earlier, originally I checked them after a short drive, then mowed for a few hours, they were all still tight.

Almost broken in!

Screened dirt with the L6060 loading the screener and the Kx033 taking care of the tailings and slash. Son helped so throughput was increased. Rain and t-storms in afternoon so was able to burn some slash piles. We are only allowed to burn between 5p to 5am with a permit unless it is raining or ground is snow covered. Rain in forecast tomorrow. May be too muddy to sift but have endless amounts of slash to burn.

Is one support enough? I heard you should have three, but then again I think this is up for debate. Reason I'm asking I have one apple tree that has to be straightened.

Nice trailer and you have it freighted up pretty good - that is a score. Back in the 60's we lived in Enfield for a while where the shade tobacco farms were active. I wonder if they still are - we've been in VT now for 50 years.


Last time I did maintenance on the L3010 I noticed the fan belt was getting crumbly and badly cracked. So I ordered a new one. I just got around to changing it out today. Once I figured out how to snake the new belt thru the fan blades and shroud to get it around the shaft it was easy.

thanks, it’s a 14k gross trailer I got last fall. I may of been a bit heavy for 2 of the loads but it still dumped well. Backing a gooseneck is very different from a bumper pull that I could thread the needle with. I can use some practice on the GN for sure. CT river valley tobacco leaf is alive and well, one of the best for cigars I understand. Developments and commercial are inching in all around the fields that I see on the airport connector how long they will keep growing should be interesting to see.

Back to moving dirt in my water run-off, er pond project. Didn't get much done before I got rained out. Weather man called for spotted showers. Kubota saw it's first hail and rain @ 83 hrs. Hail was small pellets, but it was a distance back to the barn of course! Decided to let it sit outside for a bath.

We never had any apples, only when I pruned the trees last winter suddenly we got loads of apples. As you can see I am totally clueless when it comes to fruit growing Tractor repairing is easier, I think

Thanks for the reply. Glad to here the tobacco farms are still there - at least for now. There was a tobacco shed just down the road from us. When they did the harvest the tractors pulling the trailers filled with the long tobacco leaves strung on racks of stringers would go by the house on the way to the shed. I loved the sweet tobacco aroma as they went by or when I passed by a shed. Smoked cigars too.

Well, I am not happy with the horns sound at 110db, so I ordered a new horn from Amazon, at 330 db, I believe that it will be loud enough for me to get attention from some one, if I need to warn them about something!

Sure wish I could locate one of those dirt screening implements. I have tried to google it in Eastern NC but can’t seem to find anything. I have been doing a good bit of cleaning up and now have a couple of large piles and sure would make it easier to screen out the trash and not have to haul away the good dirt. If anyone on the site knows of any reputable sources that I could rent it please let me know. I worked just a short time on the tractor today. Getting my ideas together to mount my chain saw rack on the ROPS just beside the tool rack right above the fender on left side.

Where did you buy your mirror? I've got magnetic side mirrors - dropped and broke one in a week - using the other one upside down. I like the canopy mount - no dropping! Does it fold up against the canopy when you're not using it?

Finally finishing up this irrigation project with my little BX23S. Trench is a little over 200ft long, 3ft-4ft deep and installed 4 freeze-proof yard hydrants. Soil is super rocky so I bedded the PEX in a foot of quarter-minus gravel; 6 inches below and 6 inches above the line. Got the hydrants draining into a bed of washed pea gravel and placed 5 gallon buckets with the bottom cut out around the hydrants, also filled those with the washed pea gravel then put the lids on with a hole cut in the middle too accommodate the hydrant and t-post I used to stabilize each hydrant (the t-posts were also perfect for setting the hydrants to the perfect height. Just use hose clamps to attach the hydrant to the t-post).

After I tapped into the existing water line I also had to repair a sewer line that I hit with the backhoe. Wasn't even supposed to be a sewer line anywhere on that side of the house, but turned out to be an RV clean out that connects to the septic tank that starts somewhere up in the carport. That's awesome because some pointI want put a shop where the carport is, adnthat means I can easily install sink and toilet with the existing line.

Got everything plumbed in, everything works anon leaks, then ran a tracer line in the trench and started filling all in. Did this over the course of about 7 days over the last month.

Popped off the backhoe and installed the three point hitch and quick hitch for the first time and also installed some adjustable sway bars/stabilizers (the stock turnbuckles just look awful to adjust) and popped on the box scraper.

I have to say this little backhoe on the BX23S is very capable Sure, not going to win any races with it, but for what is it did a great job. Probably paid for that attachment on this project alone. This little tractor has definitely exceeded my expectations so far.

It's been a while since I posted anything to this site. After purchasing our L3560 LE back in 2021, I finally made it to 55 hours so I completed the 50 hour service yesterday with my wife's help. It was really quite a bit easier than I thought it would be. The oil change was a snap and the two hydro filters weren't bad either with her holding the vacuum hose over the inlet. I only lost a quart and a half of hydraulic fluid. I was worried the filters might be tough to loosen, but no problem at all.

On another note, a couple weeks ago I trailered the tractor with box blade attached to the sailing club to do some ground work. Our club is relatively small so whenever members can do the work we try and make that happen. I have borrowed another members 10K trailer and pulled it 50 miles each way on country two lane highways with my 2024 GMC Sierra 3.0 diesel with max tow package. I was worried but it went well so now I know I can do that a couple times a year if needed, We had some gravel delivered and I spread it out and also regraded our road and filled in some low spots from lots of river flooding. I don't have a lot of seat time doing this kind of work but I think it came out pretty good, if I do say so myself.

My son in law is a big farmer here in Eastern NC, tobacco being his main crop. The away they do it now is way different than what they did years ago. They have a machine that picks it, dumps it into these long special trailers that can be dumped at the processing facility, then it is placed in these large rolling carts, where it is rolled into a barn to be dried, then put into huge bundles for storage until they take it to the tobacco market. Tobacco is a multi million dollar business that will never go away. To many people smoke it and just not in the USA, good bit of it is exported.

I'm doing a siding project on the house. The front porch/deck had to go for me to get to the siding that was rotted away. I used the 2380 to lift off one section of the deck. two to go. I'm taking off the old crappy MDF (Masonite) lap siding. Novic stone stack stone plastic fake stone siding panels will replace it. Bx did the job for me.
