Did driveway hopefully last time this season. Stone had all thawed, was quite a challenge with the snowblower. Back blade wasn’t much better. Didn’t do a very good job

Supposed to be near 60 degrees in a couple days.

An aside, we lost power other night due to winds taking a large white pine down, which took power and cable lines with it.

Amazing the lower communication line didn’t break or pull poles down. It also supported the butt log when the tree was topped. Bounced up 10’ or so.

Cutter from Asplundh Tree Service, power company’s contractor, was awesome. Really knew what to do. He limbed around it, and got it to roll right off the line. Line bounced right back up where it belonged.

As soon as power was restored, we also had cable and internet, fed off that line. Amazing.

For scale, those firewood blocks in the foreground are 20” diameter or so. Betting log is crowding 32” or so a butt end.

Not sure my little BX can get that off the hill..... "Moline might be albe to pull it other direction...

Probably has 300 board feet in it…..but since it snapped off clean, might be a little shaky anyway.

Well, I learned not to let the pile build up until the chips get into the drive roller and knock the belts off 🤦‍♂️

I share your pain RCW as I was out today twice with the 8N/front blade. What a mess of stone I moved around as it was not frozen at all. Not going to be pretty when this stuff melts. Get to try the york rake on the kubota to clean it off the lawn I guess.

Bill - - true enough.... Guessing we're at 6-8"...how much you get?

Afterthought, maybe I should have just driven over it to pack it down, and blow out driveway apron.

Beyond our 50's yesterday, wonder if this started with a little rain when it started....either way, it was a mess....

I think about 8" here too. Last night when I took the dogs out at 9:30 it was spitting some sort of rain sleet.

This has been my worst year of plowing in 27 years. Partially because of the coarseness of the stone I put down last year but heavy snow after a thaw cycle over and over. If it wasn't for UPS etc I would just let it lay!

Didn’t get away without another trip over the driveway. Got some lake effect later yesterday.

Still threw some stone, but not as bad as yesterday. Didn’t do a very good job today either, but calling for 48 degrees tomorrow and warmer rest of week.

Maple sap is going to run well for a couple days. We used to call this sugar snow.

Our woods next door. Neighbor does about 150 taps on it.

You can see grass still through the snow here. Put my old ford backblade on I inherited but didn't need to use it really.

Saturday I cut down two more blonded Ash tress close to our driveway. Cut them up in to 60" logs and took them down to the shed to block up and split. This is just one of the loads of logs.

Yesterday my wife and I used the chipper for a little over an hour cleaning up the limbs from the two trees.

I decided to get stocked up with enough diesel to last a bit for spring projects. I emptied my cans into the tractor a filled the tank. Then I attached the forks and loaded my 30 gallon fuel caddy plus a 5 gallon jug. $175 later they were full and I used the forks to unload. Enough for 3 full tank fill-ups.

IT's Official!
Winter is now over. I declared it.
I greased my snowblower, oiled the chain and sprayed anti rust all over the chute and any part that had paint rubbed off.
If the weather stays like it is today then tomorrow I'll remove it for the season.
