Did more brush clearing. Started leveling the area with the box blade. Through down some seed.

Everything was going well till we noticed the MF383 front tire going flat. Got it back to the barn, took the tire off and found a nail in it. No spare tubes and no patch kit. So, we decided to call it a day and will get the tire fixed this week.

I use a 12V dipstick pump.
Works great, but rather slow.
No spills though.

I do the same thing for years now on all the cars. I had some difficulty getting it down the dipstick tube on the BX23S, so I had to dig out my smaller tube, and with a little coaxing, I was able to get it down to the bottom of the oil pan. The first time that I use it on a new vehicle, I pull the pan plug to see how much that didn't get sucked out. When I pulled the plug on the BX23S, I didn't get but a few drops. Not worth thinking about. When I was younger, I would pull the drain plug, and let it drain all night, but as I got older, I realized that what came out the first five minutes, was enough. About 15 years ago, I switched to the electric drain bucket that came from a marine supplier. Saves me a lot of time and effort.

Installed a SAWHAUL chainsaw holder and a floor board step assist on my B2601 today. The B2601 does not have an option to add the assist step, but thanks to this forum, I learned that the B2650 which does have an assist step bolts right on. Got the step from Messicks.

I did a bit of grading today and found out I need some weight in the front real bad. I let the box get to full of gravel then raised it to high and the front end went up at least two feet. Kinda spooked me, I guess I will get the hang of it soon. Later as I put her up I stood there and admired how good the new ROPS look on her. Now off to get some dinner.

Just pick up a load or dirt in your FEL.

Well I'm puzzled I have an old ground driven McCormick manure spreader I picked up this year, it's been working awsome, today It got plugged with frozen chunk of hay, i got it cleared out back at barn engaged near manure pile, to test, it worked fine disengaged it drove to feild to spread stopped engaged it and pull a head and nothing. The wheels on spreader turn but the 3 pointed knuckle that times the conveyer and runs the gear just stays but wheel axle turns... inner peice broken or is there a shear bolt? I was frozen keep telling the wife I need a heated cab tractor....

Started on leaves. Blew the gutters on my house, then went down to Dad’s house to do the gutters on it and the other house before starting on the yards and road/driveway. As I was headed down the road, noticed about 70% of leaves are still on the trees and then a little gust of wind created a blizzard of leaves reminding me of the futility of my plans, so I just blew out the gutters and said to heck with the rest of it until more are down. Looking at the carpet of leaves all over the yards and gravel areas kind of drives me nuts but nothing to do about it until they’re all down.

After last year with the pine straw rake and grapple on the Kubota I’m not nearly as concerned with it getting out of control to the point they’re impossible to blow/rake/grapple into the woods.

One of the creek crossings had washed to the point Dad was starting to have a little difficulty crossing on his 4 wheeler so I spent about 10 minutes with the loader and box scrape smoothing that up. Keeping the crossings groomed is about like mowing grass. Tractor cleans it up, creek messes it up, tractor cleans it up, repeat… With rare exception just a few times a year and doesn’t take long.

@NCL4701 i feel like the same thing is happening here. It seems like there is still at least a third of the leaves left on the trees. I cant remember so many leaves still being on the canopy this late in the season.

Wash passed my wife's inspection !!!!
Very likely wont leave the garage for 6 months.

Had one of these days back in the first week of July, and the tractor didn’t move from the garage until September

Changed the oil in the L3901DT Sunday. Took the loader off to make it a little easier to do. These tractors look some much different without the loader.

Took a piece of flashing and cut it so not to get oil all over the frame and front axle. I had made one before, but I couldn't find it. Put it somewhere where I wouldn't loose it, so it is safe somewhere.

Went to grease the loaded, got two pumps out of it and ran out of grease. At least I knew where the new tube of grease was.

This was a new sewer line connection. The ground was really wet so I knew it would get torn up.

Start:

The dig. found an old foundation. After hammering, used the 1 foot bucket to break it out.

Street connection made. Test plugs installed for the inspector (who came 2.5 hours late).

That made us start backfilling around dark...and those results speak for themselves

Still going...

After loading up, I was afraid of what it would look like in the morning. I asked the guys to send me a pic the next day so I could see how bad it was. I wasn't disappointed. The image is pretty much what I expected to see. The proverbial "bomb" went off in the front yard!

I'll have to go back and clean it up. Sucks.

Have thought about retiring my old lever binders in favor of ratchet binders (only every time I load the tractor which is infrequent). Those EZ binders looked really sweet until I looked at the price. I know you’re loading and unloading constantly so I’m sure they make sense but for my infrequent use I got some bad sticker shock on those things. I’m up off the floor now but still recovering.
