Dang, that sucks. I thought the 18's were still 134a systems. I know the '19 from this morning was a 1234yf system, luckily for them they didn't need any though. Stuff is HIGH. When 1234yf was first introduced, i went from paying about $200 for a 30lb cylinder of 134a, to $850 for an 8lb cylinder of 1234. Its half that now luckily.

And beware, most shops are charging 1234 systems with 134. They are more similar than initially taught to techs.

He must've thought that the system was blowing the coldest it could then to not atleast evac it and verify the freon capacity. Something that definitely should be done if the customer is either insinuating or directly telling you it's not operating as it was before.

And looking at tons of different systems on tons of different manufacturers I'm not sure how a tech can say yep that system is filled to 100% capacity and know for sure that its not possibly at least .2 .3lbs low.

So hopefully you're right and shes just slightly low. Its brutal out right now, and at least here in Hinds co. , there aint a stitch of wind out.......i'm freakin dying out here LOL.
Typo, yeah 134. He did offer to evac and recharge, but I figured we'd get the same result. It's been brutal here too. We had a heat advisory 'til 1 am this morning. I'm supposed to work on a bridge tomorrow morning.

Well apparently, I won't be doing any mowing that's for sure! We had 4+ inches of rain two days ago and the river is a little over its bank. As this area was once lake bottom it is already spongy so until it dries for a week, I can't take the BX down there. This kind of thing usually only happens in early spring when the winter melt happens. First pic is my Willows that I mow to the right of. 😬 flood.jpg Flood2.jpg

managed to knock open not one, but two ground hornet nests while flail mowing last night. I didn't get zapped luckily.

Now I'm scheming up alternative ways of annihilation. I'm thinking that the mini with its cab should be used in conjunction with copious quantities of dawn dish soap.

Although would very much like to incorporate my "weed burner" propane torch.

I like to treat my in ground yellow jacket nests with fire.....usually 8-9pm ish.

I'll walk out, dump a cup or so of gas in the hole, make a trail several feet away and enjoy sweet victory.

They got me a few years ago on my 3301. At 3.5mph, I never stood a chance. Bailed off that mother and was gone!

I've been lucky with the ground hornets. I have gotten lucky spotting them coming and going so I can formulate the plan for their extinction. Two years ago my luck kinda sorta ran out. I was mowing and there is a poplar tree that had some low hanging limbs and as I went under it the ROP hit one of the limbs and there was this black bug flying around right after. Never gave it another thought. Next day I grabbed my loppers and walked out to get rid of the limbs. I started cutting and the third limb hit the ground, and it was at that moment I knew I was in deep poodoo. I just dropped a fair-sized bald-faced hornets' nest on the ground. I got nailed by one and ran for the house. I hate getting stung, but I would rather get stung by three ground hornets that one sting by the bald-face SOB's DANG! they hurt.

Short day on the L2501. Putting in a very small wildlife watering station. My soil is loamy sand so requires a "liner" to hold water. 6 50# bags of sodium bentonite will be put down. Camera really flattens out the depression I dug.

Lots of folks will buy a 40 gal plastic stock tank and bury but I prefer to use bentonite and end up with a larger area and all organic for about the same price as the stock tank.

While I was getting ready to hop on the tractor this doe came out to my larger pond.

I started with my bucket but ended up with the grapple. I unearthed about a dozen basket ball sized rocks from the depression.
