What About Your Tractor Makes You Swear?

The perforated floorboards on my L3301.....with the way I enter it, I found myself with my weight (150) on my left foot, while twisting to sit down, and kind of torquing on my ankle to be inconvenient, after doing it often enough. So I riveted a smooth aluminum plate on just the left side, it just makes it slicker to get behind the wheel.

The switch that kills the engine when you raise your butt off the seat, was defeated the first 15 minutes I operated it, that was a given. Yeah the light switch is also a minor annoyance, but I can live with that.

What makes me swear while about my tractor.....Hmmmmm, When I do something stupid like letting a big old dead pine that I was moving with my pallet forks roll over and one of the branches cracked my left headlight. There was alot of swearing that day. Although I think I was swearing at myself vs the tractor.

My l3301 just arrived the other day and the seat safety switch was already disengaged. Guess the service guys got tired of the crap....LOL

I Love My Tractor....seriously....it has been remarkable in service for us!

(ok....I need to get some valve stem protection on the back tires...but that's just because we have that issue in our application)

REAR STABILIZERS ON 3PT Arms

I always struggled with the rear stabilizer links and turn buckle on the lower 3pt arms of my first tractor an L3200. Adjustment was difficult and cumbersome. I later purchased a MX5800 and was amazed at the wizardry of telescopic stabilizers that were adjustable with pins in a wide array of holes, so much easier to mount implements and make the rear arms more flexible for hitching things up.

I then found out I could buy a similar set of adjustable telescopic rear arm stabilizers for my L3200 (a scaled down version of the MX5800 stabilizers), what a treat, what an improvement, $200 later and 30 minutes to fit, this upgrade was the best investment to solve my pet Kubota tractor hate.

I just put a set of adjustable stabilizer links on my l3901. FYI They have to be adjusted carefully because they will rub on my R4s. Which is a bit of a pain for some implements.

Besides not having a temp. light or buzzer....
When you get on to start brush hogging and it takes you 45 minutes to get the machine ready to use.... when I constantly have the discussion about treating my equipment the way I treat it... not the way you treat yours. My reward for not killing him is my grandchildren.

Replacing the radiator! Started leaking in January, and I kept nursing it along feeding hay every third day, the the virus came along and no shops open. Had to remove the hood, nose piece, oil bath air filter, and all the side panels. Took 3 hrs to get it out, and 6 hrs to put it back in!

The profanity was when I was standing on the front tire, leaning over the loader trying to get the nose piece to fit in over the steel air intake and the radiator fill, when my hand slipped and got a nice cut!

But it's a 1966 and built like a tank.

I swear one of these days I'm gonna quit this kubota fixin' nonsense.

It is tiring. I'll have 30 years on 21 June 2021, of course part of that was with Deere as well. Seeing the same stuff on a daily basis burns you out.

But today was different. I had to drive through town to get to work since the back road is being destructed (they're supposedly "fixing" it). Of course I got approached by several holding up signs and chanting "I cant breathe". Two of em got in front of the truck. Light turned green and I inched forward. No movement. Still holding signs hollering at me. Those guys need to be real careful about what they're doing, there are slightly deranged rednecks running around that ain't got much to lose if something bad happens. Fortunately for them, I ain't one of them. My brother on the other hand.....

I wish the exhaust pipe was angled more to the left so the soot doesn't deposit on the bucket.
Also the Hydro noise can be excessive

Easy fix. Get one of these. It works great.

Answering the question from the title - it consumes too much of a fuel.

That’s exactly one of the reasons I LIKE my Kubota... It SIPS fuel.

I have a 48" 20hp Honda rider gasser that uses about 2-3 times as much fuel as the 40hp Kubota turning a 6ft brush hog.
I was actually surprised at how little it used when I first got it.

Those little pieces of square stock welded to the bottom of the FEL arms that stop the bucket at the end of the curl cylinder travel, Those little SOBs have pretty sharp corners and a even with my trusty Kubota hat on, they will just about bring you to your knees.
