What a change in the weather

Friday we were at 101 with 93% humidity.

This morning went out to go to the gym, 51 and 80% humidity. The heat kicked on in the SUV on the way to the gym.

Looked at the temperature at the farm, 48 degrees there.

Although the cool temps are short lived, they sure are nice.

Solar Cycle 25 is still young–and we are generally in a period of reduced solar output, with the sun threatening to enter a multidecadal state of “hibernation” (otherwise known as a Grand Solar Minimum)–so big swings in the weather to be expected.

Man, what part of northern michigan you from? Yesterday and today have been the coldest days in several weeks now. We've had the AC in our bedroom on basically non-stop until this morning.

Perfectly normal for New England too. 90's the past 3 days....now tonight cold front moving in it's going to be in the 40's tonight.
Of course in New England we don't call the 40's actually cold, we call it "crisp".

A bit too cold to jump in the pool though, for me anyways.

Was a cool (mid 60s) beautiful, mostly sunny day in northern Indiana. Spent a couple hours with the BX trimming trees so I don't get brushed off when mowing under them.
Was checking on an unusual noise under the bonnet, and discovered the oil filler cap was gone. Wasn't to be found in the engine compartment. It was there a few days ago when I mowed the yard, because I checked the oil and coolant levels before I started mowing, and would have noticed if it was gone. Probably in the yard somewhere, probably find it the next time I mow. It's been about 40 hours since the oil change, the lat time I would have taken the cap off. Strange...

I just celebrated my 20th wedding anniversary. If the sun burnt out tomorrow I am ready to go.

After my 20th, I was hoping for 20 more. At 29 now and still looking forward to many more.

Good Lord willing, we will celebrate 27 years this fall. It is nice seeing marriages that have lasted for a while and 'weathered' so many of life's challenges.

Wow -- we're in for what is likely to be all time record highs for any date in weather recorded history here (since 1881). Starting Sat we get close to 100 but by Mon are up in the 105 range until Thurs and we live at 3000 ft above sea level in north Idaho. The poor folks in the valley are looking at over 110 to perhaps 115. That's similar to what the weather is in Phoenix right now except that they actually have a chance of precip.


Throw in a record low spring precip, current drought and all dryland crops close to failure (including hay at 30% of normal) and we're living the dream. Can't wait for the fires to start to finish off the summer.
