Did you bury the wire in conduit or was it a direct burial wire? Copper or aluminum? Copper is the new gold standard!
He said copper rusty. And yes he has quite a bit of $$$$$in the ground

Yes,.......the gen set has a 50A receptacle
Not shaving a zero off though!
I direct buried 600' of copper 2/0 cable 30+ years ago.
It currently has a 100A service entrance box, ( used as a sub panel from 200A) and all has been been working just fine, though I have never loaded it to the full 100A.
Perfect then, already set up for it.

You never know when folks post stuff if they are aware of the needs or not. Should have known you would be. (y)

Long copper run was a way to avoid a separate pole, meter, and separate monthly service charges.
Over the past 30+ years that has served me well.

I walk by what was the Westinghouse headquarters here in Pittsburgh twice a day and am very familiar with the triumphs and tragedies of the once great American company and all I will say is to get the extended warranty if offered.

My plan has now changed!
I have cancelled the Home Depot tri-fuel 12.5KW Westinghouse generator.
I have instead ordered a DuroMax XP 8500 EH dual fuel unit.
A $366 price difference, a 3 year warranty, and local repair available.
I will likely use propane which provides 8075W max/6550 running Watts.
That is enough for my needs.

That model has the idle control. My Duramax doesn't so that's good.
Before I bought my Predator 9500 I watched a video on utube it was called
Predator 9500 vs Duramax 9000 .
If they aren't made at the same China factory I'd be shocked. Watch the video when you get a spare minute.

Thanks!
I do think I made the proper choice.
I shall do as you suggest.
