I've had a Davis Vantage Pro2 with the extra sensors for a dozen years. I've had to replace the wind vane twice. It did not survive hail. Works well. My only complaint is with the rain gauge. It can get plugged with pollen and leaves too.

The software is dated. I am having problems after an OS upgrade. I am playing with CumulusMX and plan to switch.

I wrote a Perl script
to scrape it's web server page, stash the info in a mysql database, from which I
use Perl scripts to display the data in various ways. That way if I change to a different
weather station sometime I will only have to rewrite the piece that scrapes the
web page.
Nice. Long time Perl and LAMP guy here...

Lots of Perl in use for my local network stuff. Too old and cranky to mess with java or javascript, which I consider to be as dangerous as systemd or snaps.

Just ask her for what you want and it's all there. Current conditions to long range. Set her up with the most accurate provider in your area also. Set up NWS warnings. Alexa uses information from the nearest town that's 3 miles from us that is fairly accurate and our GPS location for alerts. We have windows to verify data.
I don't need another woman in my life "telling me how it is gonna be" 😂

As I’ve said before my weather thing isn’t a real comprehensive weather station.

Getting so I really like it nonetheless.

Found a good place for the outside sensor in a window well on the north side of the house. Just have it stuck there with Gorilla tape.

It went through the “learning” phase for 10-14 days.

Seems to have settled in.

Yes, our downstairs is about 77 degrees as heated by the pellet stove. Keeps upstairs about 66 degrees. No need to use fuel oil.
