Some years ago, I was working a contract job for a Fortune 500 company. Their IT group would do periodic on-line security pointers. One time, the lesson was to not open links in e-mails or texts from unknown sources. A couple of days later, they sent out a test text from some weird site. 80 or 90% of the employees that had taken the training fell for it.
I worked for Chrysler for 18 years. They would do the same thing. They never told us the percentage who opened it, but I would guess it was pretty high since they couldn't get the engineering group to stop using "reply all" with every e mail.

A similar thing happened at this company. Some VP sent an email to all employees. It invited a response, so after a few people responded, reply all, and a few replies to the replies, the email system was down for a couple of days until preventive measures could be implemented.

So sorry, aemsee. That kind of thing can irritate for a long time. Most people have run into scum bags at one time or another. In another way, it make us appreciate the good people we deal with.

I was taken on Kubota parts. A "member" sent me an e mail that Rida Mech had parts I was looking for. Contacted "them" and they sent a few pics. Decided on a grill assembly for $240 shipped. That was a month ago. Zero contact from them after they said item was being shipped.
Just searched on line and found same scam by same people being run on other automotive sites. Just pissed at myself. Here is the address I mailed the check to:
Marie Osbey
20919 Birnamwood Blvd
#937
Humble Tx 77338 View attachment 177190
If you mailed the check using USPS you can file a mail fraud complaint. I would try it. You can file online or by phone. Just do an internet search " file a mail fraud complaint"
