0 degrees this morning and the old 1985 M4500 fired up without assistance... outside. Used glow plugs a total of 80 seconds. As much as I loved the old Farmall's back on the farm and as well as they treated us the diesel never would have started on a morning like this without a healthy shot of ether and maybe still a pull.
Yeah, it complained and chugged a little, but within a few seconds was purring right along.

Yeah I got to go play out in the snow today too ohboy,, push off in front of the garage one pass down the drive way one back up da udder side and my fat old arse was in for a cup of Irish COFFEE!!!

Yup, diesel's lit off this morning. Now tomorrow may be a bit more sluggish... skeets may need two Irish coffees!

Both the L3200 and the ol' Ford 1210 started up nicely before sunrise with about 15 seconds of glowplugs this AM at 11*F. Sure felt colder than that.

Fired up my L3800 this morning and spent about 5 hours plowing about 5 inches of snow over a 400'x400' in 10 degrees..... I was wishing I had bought a tractor with a cab.... but the open cab is so much cooler in the summer

This is my first year with a tractor with a bucket....and here in Maine we are certainly having a real winter...(must be global warming right)...but anyway the amount of work plowing and moving snow in places my pickup truck just can't get to is really unbelievable . I used to hire a neighbor who has a tractor to come after a couple storms and bucket the snow banks back. Its currently -15* below here at 8:30 pm. And I've started it several times at 0* out , let it warm up and go. I'm loving it...

I hear that WFM. I am near Belfast. My thermometer reads -16. Been moving snow with the L3200 today... opening things up. I am going to buy a old fisher snow plow tomorrow and work on welding on a Q/A plate to the back, and I already have a grapple with remotes on the front so I can angle the blade. Moving snow is fun... at first..

Minus 7 degrees here in CT this morning.

I got home Friday from 30 hours of plowing at work and went up to the barn and after 30 seconds of glow plugs, the L3750 started right up. Love that 5 cylinder diesel! I let it run at 1000 rpm as I'd read on this forum, while I snowblowed the front walk with the Craftsman walk-behind. Got on the tractor and 2 passses down the 600 foot gravel driveway with the 6 ft. grader blade did the trick. I do have to get an 8 foot blade though because the smaller blade is short by almost a foot on each side when angled. it worked fine on my old Ford 1000 but this Kubota is much larger.

I just wish there was enough snow to hook up the 5 foot rear blower for some real fun!!

No Offence Mike ...but here in Maine we still pee out side at -7* below...lol....This morning -24* below here, reminds me of being young and growing up ice fishing at -24* below. And yes now days that's cold..

No luck today. 2 degrees outside. L3800 will crank but not start even after i had glowplugs turned for 60 seconds. I put some more anti-gel into the fuel tank. I saw it splash in, so the fuel was liquid.

I am wondering if I should try opening the Air Valve (as when bleeding the line).

edit: got it started. I seems like I was counting to fast and not using the glow plug long enough.

WFM... "Pee outside at -7"???? C'mon now, fess up. Bet you stuck your tongue to the street lamp post when you were a kid too, didn't you?

Pee'ed outside a couple weeks ago when it was -15, it required being quick, and knowing exactly which way the wind is blowing!

Does sticking your tongue to your tractor count?

No it wasn't a lamp post because only the citys had them....but I did have a Paris Flyer runner sled(made in paris maine) that had the metal bracket that connected the steering. And yes I did stick my tounge to that....lol
