I read an article a few years back stating in Russia car owners remove the wiper blades and install them when they need them. Too expensive to leave them exposed and deteriorate.

Just a comment about OEM vs Bosch Icons. I haven't found any OEM blades that are as good or easier to install.

Of course, I haven't owned every brand of vehicle.

In Russia people carry burnt-out lightbulbs to "exchange" them for working ones they find in fixtures. It's not an easy life.

I think the cheap Walmart ones are Trico maybe $12. Bucks. Winter ones in October, summer ones in May.

I have had good luck with the Ford Motorcraft beam blades, for winter on my F150 I run these heated beam blades Heated wiper blades

I came upon the heated blades when Freightliner and western star started offering them from the factory for municipal plow trucks, they are expensive but absolutely worth it in the snow and ice.
