Short answer: No.
Heck, I leave the brake on and just lift the rear tires when I push. (-:

Does your tractor come to a stop when you take your foot off of the hydro pedal? If it does, there is resistance to rolling. It's an easy maneuver to put it into neutral before moving it with the backhoe. Don't risk damaging your transmission for the sake of a quick flick of the lever.

Thanks, I was pushing it with the tires on the ground , rolling it slowly while on medium M. Is this going to damage anything?
Thanks
Yes you can damage parts leaving the transmission engaged and pushing it.

I had a cheater stick on my BX23S, Use it press forward pedal. if you time it just right , engine doesn't die.
Lost the stick in the bush ,so back to using BH.
It's a whole lot easier WHEN you lift the bucket first though........
