Tried searching this topic but didn’t find anything. Looking to buy a used sub compact and settled on Kubota. Used 23S and 25D tractors near me are being listed around the same price point for similar amounts of hours on the machine. Is there a reason to lean toward one or the other?

After looking at both, the biggest differences I noticed:
The 23S has the option for the SSQA front attachments. I enjoyed this on my L, but the reduced lifting capacity for this option could be an issue.
The 23S has an option for a roll-over mid-mount mower, the 25D does not.
The 23S has a prettier dashboard, and the 25D has been known to leak water in the dash, causing issues.
The newer -1 25D models have the updated seat with arm rests, reclining, etc, and I didn't notice any difference sitting in the two.
The 23S has a new K-Connect system for snow equipment vs the tried and true BX2751 subframe. Seems that some have issues with it.
The 23S can disconnect/remove the loader without having to get off the tractor.
None of these upgrades on the 23S mattered to me except the SSQA, so I opted to go with a low-hour BX25D-1 that I found a screaming deal on. I'll figure out a mount up front in the future, but so far, I'm only missing it for forks and don't plan on using a grapple or other equipment up front.

One other dis of the 23s - the quick couple lever is prone to leaking -some have had problems with it - some have not.
The SSQA would be the real reason I would consider the 23s - that opens huge doors despite taking a bit of lift capacity away.
Once you get it - you will WISH that you had it .......... many years ago!

SSQA is easy enough to add.
If it's only forks that you care about, the pin-on quick attach adaptor is also still available if you look hard enough, and has less impact on lift capacity. You'll have to specifically modify your forks to fit, but it's not that big a deal.
I have a B2601 and in my country SSQA is very rare - so there weren't really any attachments for it anyway. I got the pin on adaptor for the B2601, and modified my forks. The other advantage is that my forks were originally 3ph forks, so I now have forks that will go on the loader or the 3ph. It lifts a lot more on the 3ph (just not to the same height).

Good call. I have the quick attach adapter on my loader and used it for the first time this weekend to remove and reinstall my bucket. It was just as easy as the SSQA. I'm starting to look for a deal on pin-on forks now. The Kubota BX6314 forks seem to go for less than aftermarket ones, if I can find any...
