Use for rear remotes

Dumb question? I have a rear remote mounted on top of the fender on drivers side. I really do not have any implements yet, planning on a bush hog this summer that goes on the rear PTO.

What would you use the rear remote for?

We put hydraulic top links on our tractors. With a rotary cutter this allows us to easily adjust the height when needed and to raise it higher for easier transporting.

When doing some extremely tough brush, I may raise the back of the cutter to ease into it then lower it to finish.

On my L3000 I use rear hydraulics for my V-rake. I also have a trail type disk that's hyd lift. I have also used it to move other implements around that I normally would have hooked to my M9000.

The average home owner may not have much use for rear remotes but they make my little tractor much more usefull than ever before.

I thought I could raise the bush hog or cutter with my 3 point hitch?

This is a 3pt cutter with hyd tail wheels.

Yes, you raise the cutter with the 3PH, but when properly adjusted, the rear wheels(s) may not be all that high off the ground and catch on the ground going across uneven ground, ditches, RR tracks etc. Using the hydraulic top link allows you to get clearance when needed.

I just got a L3800 and had them install the rear remotes. For me, I got a power rake, which has the hydraulic angle, so I need them for that. Another thing some use them for is when using a hydraulic cylinder for the upper link of the 3 point. Then you can adjust the 3 point attachment easy. There are other attachments in which the remote can be used for...like a stump grinder. Hope this helps.

I like the idea of using it for a piston in place of the top 3 pt. hitch rod looks handy and I have everything to put it together other than the piston.
I might even have that if anyone thought a myers snow plow ram would work?

If your ram has 2 ports for fluid then yes it will work, some snowplow rams only have 1 port and they will not work.

YUP! 2 ports looks like this might be my next project, spent this weekend welding support legs on my new to me tandem axle trailer so the hitch on the truck dose not take so much up force.
Always a project to tinker on
