Out there some where
:confused:I found what appears to be a very slow leak although not able to find cause.

This is behind front axel.

Any ideas? Smells like hydraulic fluid but no levels are low.

A little oil will make a big mess. You could clean it off with some degreaser or break cleaner, drive it and get it good and warm and see if you can pin point where it's coming from. Is there an oil cooler or hyd line around it any where?

Check the power steering hoses in the area.

The BX is notorious for those hoses failing. Usually it is under the floor board but it could be anywhere.

The pivot pin goes through the front axle and is sealed with o-rings, one of which is leaking. You most likely have lateral play in your axle, it is controlled with the nut on the front end of this pivot pin. You will need to replace the o-rings and back up rings.
