Been finding all sorts up here. Some I'd drive a hundred miles to help if they called and said their broke down. Others I'd gladly hand a rock if they were drowning. My one neighbor was having to go down to the lower 48 for cancer treatments. His wife would come and go so I made sure to plow their driveway. They really appreciated it. No money... No need. He made it through beat his cancer. Great folks.
Other neighbors ask for help plowing. I drive up and help. They have such a mess under the snow (oh yes it's all clean and good. Just need you to push some snow) I find chunks of scrap metal etc. Destroy two R4 front tires. I had to park my 3901 next to their driveway, remove both tires and order up new ones. It took a week. The whole week his wife called complaining about the tractor parked/broke in her yard. When are you going to fix it and move..... Believe me they'll never ever get my help. (Heres your rock. Have fun swimmin) two completely different types of people. Just have to learn some hard lessons.
I agree... Never loan your tractor. Always help a friend. And be wary of fair weather friends (because you have a tractor, truck, skills, etc).

I've been to North Pole Alaska. Beautiful country up there. If it wasn't for the days with 4 hours of daylight. I'd be living up there now. But that's another story.
As far as helping. Columnist Ann Landers always said only you can let people take advantage of you.
My neighbors have there own snow removal for the most part. And I'm off the road in the woods. So I fend for myself. I'm not really close with anyone on my road. But I would certainly help if asked.
