I made a change to my turnbuckle links to facilitate changing something on the 3pt hitch. I know they make the better ones for about $200 but I don't use mine a lot as I have the 8N for attachments

I bought a couple repair links I think were 1/2" but the pin hole only measures about .49 so I am not sure on that. I welded them to a couple of 5/8 bolts from tractor supply. I also welded a 3/4 lock washer on the pins to make getting them out easier. I cut one welded side of the turnbuckle end to remove the original eye bolt and then re-welded it.

So now instead of turning the link to get it off an implement pin I can pull a pin and swing them out. Works quite well and the second hole I use to store a spare pin. I have used them some this summer as I did them during the winter and they were a whole lot easier then all that turning of the turn buckle.

Okay, off to the hardware store to buy a clevis or two! Great tip! (y) (y)
I used that repair style link because it fit on the turnbuckle loop best. I looked at some small clevises but found them too sloppy. I took the one end with me to the hardware store.

I found a picture of the one I got at tractor supply. It turns out it is for 3/8" chain, I thought it was bigger but not even though the pins are almost 1/2" at .47 and the holes .49.
