Can anyone help a fella in a stuck...literally??

I have a 33-12.50 15nhs 6 stud turf tyres on the rear of a small Kubota tractor and need to change to treads to get more grip!! Can anyone let me know if I can keep the rims and get a set of treads to fit and / or buy new rims and tyres to fit?

Low budget so it is second hand options I will be looking for.

I know the relationship with the front is important and I have 23x10.5-12nhs 6studs on the front.

Any help or advice greatly received.

Thanks

I use 33 x 12.50 15" studded (metal) truck tires on mine.
They give more traction then the cleated tractor tires that were on it.
They also are ballasted with 75lbs of calcium chloride.
Picture has it with chains on it also, it was waiting for the snow to fall.

Thanks Wolfman :D

Excuse the amateur questions but why the ballast is that to give extra weight to the rear?

What manufacturer did you get for the rear tyres?

What are you running on the front end?

Really appreciate your advise as it really helps.

They are just a set of off brand tires, Wildcats, any tire maker will do just keep the same size.
Yes the ballast/weight in the tires is for traction and most of all stability.

The front tires are the stock size tire, 6-12.

Thanks a lot! Mad that I can talk to someone far, far away as if I was talking to someone down the street. Right back to the lovely Welsh weather - take care.

Goodyear makes a 12.5x15 R1 tire with a 33.3 diameter. Model 4TG306GY.

If you do an internet search you should find them down in the $200 - $225 range. Good luck getting some used.
