I bought an MX5800 not long ago and have been using it often. Up to date I haven't needed to pick up over 1,000 lbs but tonight I needed to move some concrete off my truck.
Concrete- 1,530 lbs
Forks- 330 lbs
Pallet- 40 lbs

Total 1,900 lbs

Just posting as a reference for people considering a similar tractor.

What I learned the hard way on my M7040 is having a fully loaded FEL and going down a slope, the brakes are next to useless unless you have loaded rear tires and a big weight box.
In 2wd the brakes only work on the rear wheels. Going down a slope with a big weight in the FEL means little weight on the rear and hence little brakes.
I was going down a ramp into a small excavation and was surprised when the rear wheels locked and the tractor kept going.
Use 4wd to get the front wheels experiencing a brake effect through the driveline.
You may already know this but just in case others may not.

Very good advice Dave. I think a good rule of thumb is if you're hauling anything substantial have the tractor in 4wd.
