I have inherited an L4150 Kubota recently. The RPM Meter is not working and there is nothing, that I have found, in the WSM on this. Can someone tell me where to start on this, or if I am over looking this in the WSM? Also I can not find much info on the L4150, is this a Grey market tractor or just a short run model / series for Kubota?

I'm not familiar with that tractor but, many tractors have a cable that comes from the back of the tach to the eng somewhere. It is usually broken into inside where it bends to go to the eng.

Many times you will find the cable going into the alternator/Generator housing, or very near to it. I've seen the little gearbox break at the alternator as well. Easiest way to tell is take the cable off, then spin the inner cable. That will tell you if it is the cable or the grears.

My hour meter/tach wasn't working either. Cable was broke (inside) where it attaches to gearbox. Ordered a new one from dealer last week. $21.00.
