Transmission Screen

Maybe a stupid question but I thought I was ask. On a BX1880 is it possible to remove an clean the transmission screen without loosing all the UDT2 fluid? New tractor 25 hours on it. At 50 hrs or so I would like to clean the screen anyway. Or, should I just drain the tranny, change the filter, clean the screen and refill with fresh super UDT2?

What do you guys recommend ?

I'm sure you have read the ol - vacuum trick, place a vacuum on the fill side and then .......... I aint never tried it. Then there is the have a cork READY to go and lose a bit of fluid. Then there is the park on an incline so that the fluid level is high on the lower side of the tractor.

But your last answer is the best!!!! Even at 25 hours - go ahead and do the 50 hour service!

I recall reading at Tractor-By-Net,maybe a dozen years ago,that guys were using a tapered cork to plug off the outlet in order to clean the screen without complete fluid loss.

I used a bucket and a fine paint filter, pulled the screen and everything they came out went into a CLEAN bucket through the paint filter and put it back in just a thought

I am sure you'll lose some, regardless of method you try.
I just did my 50hr service (BX2380) for the very first time.

Not sure what I was worried about. A little messy, but I was prepared.

Looking back, I certainly wouldn't do what you are proposing at 25hrs, then again at 50.(PITA)

I'd just pick an hour, do the full service and be done with it.

Maybe split the difference @ 37.5hrs? ;-) (If you are that worried about it)

p.s.-like most; I found very little sealant/caulking on my screen...my fluid looked brand new, but I changed it anyways.
