Hey everyone. I just changed my trans oil and both filters along with my front axle oil on my B2650. According to the manual i am to fill as follows:

Front axle oil-----5qts
Trans oil -----4 Gal.

sooooooooo

the front axle reads a perfect top of line on full
BUT the trans I am showing way over full on the dipstick.
I have triple checked and I have the correct amount of oil was added?
So is there air somewhere or did I miss something????
Or is this yet another kubota screw up??

????

You can never drain all the oil. The values listed are capacities, not refill amounts.

Well Yes I agree but this is like almost twice over the full mark?

Seems odd to me, have never had this happen with my other tractor..

I've seen it happen before when servicing kubota transmissions, you simply can't drain it all out without doing a complete dismantling of it.
The level can look like it's twice as high but that is only because of the configuration of the inside of the trans, drain a qt or two and it'll be on the full mark.

I ran into the same thing with my B2620. I ended up way over full and had to drain almost a gallon. I even checked 4 times to make sure I had all the drain plugs out. (which weren't listed correctly in the manuals.)

Glad to hear it has happened to someone else as I have been paranoid about it ever since.
