Hey all !!
Looking for some help or advice !! I have a L2250DT ! I bought it used and is my first tractor ! I use it around the property (LIGHT DUTY STUFF) ! It runs fine has FEL aftermarket !! I am still trying to get the bugs out of it !
The problem latley is I noticed a leak under the tractor and traced it to a,what seems to be a plug or (or bolt) not sure I never saw something like this. It is in the center underneath near where the tranny meets engine!! The plug/bolt has a plunger in the middle. That is where it is leaking HYDO/TRANNY FLUID:eek:. If you push the plunger the HYDR/TRANNY fluid streams out !! Since I found out the leak was coming from here and touch the plunger it is leaking even more !! I temporarely stoped the leak by tightly rapping it with twine !!! But I need to fix it properly !!!
Sorry for the long winded explaination but it seems like a goofy problem I don't understand !!
I tried looking for the part on "Messisks Parts Diagrams" ! I think i saw it on 1 of the tranny diagrams (for the tranny case)but they have o ID for the part I think is it !! So I don't know if that is it!
Any help Identifiy the part or explaining the problem would be greatly appreciated !!!
Thanks,
Mike M.

That's a drain plug in the bell housing to let water out.

If trans oil is coming out, it likely needs a front seal in the transmission. Not a small job, but not too bad. I'd take a close look at the clutch and replace while in there. Especially if it has a lot of hours.

Not exactly pulling the trany, but unbolting the trany from the motor. Breaking the tractor in two. Not as difficult as it seems.

I took a look this afternoon!!
Looks doable just don't like the feeling of not knowing what I will encounter!
I will try to get some prices on the job this week to see if its cost affective to do it my self or not !
Anyone have any ideas on the fair $ cost of replacing the Main tranny seal !
Thanks,
Mike M.

Hey All !!
Just wondering if anyone can point me toward a decent mechanic to fix my tranny leak !!
Thanks,
Mike M.
Either take it to the dealer, or fix it your self.

Me, I'd pull it into the shop, break it apart and replace the seal in the trans.

You can do this yourself. You will learn allot about your tractor in the process.

Get a Kubota Workshop Manual for your tractor.
On the first page of OTT, under Kubota News & Editorials you can access Kubota's Online Parts Catalog for all your parts numbers.
Take plenty of Pic's as you disassemble the tractor so you can reference them when you reassemble it.
Put small parts in a zip-lock baggy and label them.
Lay larger parts out in the order that you removed them, lable if you think necessary.
Take your time, don't try to rush through it.
There are people here who can provide advice. You can also call a Kubota dealership and talk to someone in service for advice/help.

The seals are inexpensive. Labor is $$$.

Just my 2.5 cents

Good luck however you choose.:)
