Hi All. A question about hydraulics. Does anyone use a tipping trailer behind a B7100? I assume connect to the valve under the seat, and tip and lower using the three point lever?

Here is a thread on using a tipper trailer on a different but similar tractor.

You will probably need to post a picture of what valve you are looking at using for better accuracy or responses.

Good idea, thank you.

couple of huge 'red flags' to look out for

1) size and weight of trailer/load !
Your tractor only has 16HP (according to tractordata). so can't pull a lot of weight

2) MINIMAL brakes on your tractor, so basically NO BRAKES.
That is a HUGE safety factor.

3 ) tipping ( 'dump' on this side of the pond) trailers require a fair amount of oil to raise the box,so it'll be very, very slow to raise, IF there's enough oil. Most cylinders (here) are single acting, gravity pushes oi back into the 'hydraulic system '.

I know my 20+ HP 'garden tractor' cannot pull a 3x4' manual dump trailer with a full load of moist dirt and while the Kubota may have better gearing (?) it surely can't pull a 5hy8 single axle dump trailerwith any kind of load in it.

Not saying it can't be done, and don't mean to be 'nasty' just pointing out the problem you can encounter.
it'd be interesting to hear from any that have tipping trailers behind their small tractors !

Thanks for your reply. I have logs and hedge clippings in mind, not dirt, but I know what you mean. The tractor will pull quite a weight, but I nearly tipped it over because of the weight pushing on the hitch. Scary!

I've been considering a 5'x3' trailer.

This is the diverter valve under the seat. Will the oil flow back through this valve when the tipping trailer is lowering?
Here is a thread that should help you understand how those hydraulics work.

yes, 3 by 5 is a nice size behind a 'small' tractor.I made one that size, using the worn out, 3 year old front wheels from my BX23S. Not a dump, just a 'utility'. Guy stopped by while paint was drying and ,well, I sold it...
